Nasaf thrashed Dempo 9-0 at Karshi Central Stadium
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ivan Boskovic scored four goals as Nasaf thrashed Dempo 9-0 at Karshi Central Stadium to record the biggest victory in AFC Cup history and seal their passage into the last 16.

Artur Gevorkyan scored twice while Andrejs Pereplotkins, Ilkhom Shomuradov and Shuhrat Mirholdirshaev all added one each as the hosts racked up their fourth successive victory in Group A.

Dempo manager Armando Colaco had been admitted to hospital with high blood pressure prior to the game and it got worse for the Indians after five minutes when keeper Luis Barreto was forced off injured.

Reserve custodian Subhasish Roy Chowdhury took over the gloves and subsequently had to pick the ball out of his net nine times.

Nasaf had outclassed Dempo 4-0 two weeks ago in India and it did not take them long to break the deadlock in the return fixture when Boskovic opened his account in the 12th minute, heading home Pereplotkins’ cross.

Boskovic returned the favour in the 26th minute when, after beating three opponents, he laid the ball off to the Latvian to fire home into an empty net via the underside of the crossbar.

Shamuradov then headed home the third goal just two minutes later before Jahongir Jiyamuradov, Boskovic and Pereplotkins all combined to set-up Gevorkyan and he applied the finish for the fourth.

Boskovic then claimed his second goal in first-half stoppage time when he found himself one-on-one with Subhasish and dispatched a finish past the Dempo keeper.

There was no let-up in the second-half from the hosts as Boskovic completed his hat-trick three minutes before the hour mark with another header.

Gevorkyan added his second goal with a strike from outside the box to make it 7-0 and Boskovic then headed home his fourth in the 78th minute.

And there was still time for Mirholdirshaev to complete the scoring with a superb free-kick to make the final scoreline read 9-0.

The result means Nasaf maintain their grip on the top of the Group A table with 12 points, nine ahead of third-placed Dempo with two games remaining in the first phase.
