Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 28 April 2020, the President of Uzbekistan signed a decree “On measures for the widespread adoption of the digital economy and e-government,” according to which:
- The Ministry of Information Communications and Technologies has become the authorized body in the field of the development of the digital economy and e-government, and the National Agency for Project Management under the President retained the authority to introduce crypto assets and blockchain technology;
- The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment is determined by the authorized body for the possession, maintenance and management of the Unified electronic information system of foreign trade operations. At the same time, NAPU was instructed to ensure, within one month, the transfer to the Ministry of the Unified Electronic Foreign Trade Information System along with its property and equipment.
According to the resolution under the Ministry of Information Communications and Technologies (hereinafter referred to as the Ministry), an e-government project management center and a digital economy research center are formed in the form of a state institution.
Also, the resolution approved the transfer to the Ministry:
- state shares in the authorized capital of LLC “Unified Integrator for the Creation and Support of State Information Systems UZINFOCOM”;
- state blocks of shares (stakes) in the authorized capitals of economic communities included in the organizational structure of the Ministry.
In addition, an order was given to submit to the Cabinet of Ministers a proposal on determining the procedure for public financing (crowdfunding) and conclusion of option agreements by residents of the Technological Park of software products and information technologies.
