Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  By a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers, Muzaffar Kamilov has been reappointed as the rector of the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan, as reported by the press service of the Committee on Religious Affairs.

Kamilov’s predecessor, Uygun Gafurov, who had held the position since September 2023, was relieved of his duties due to a transition to another position.

Muzaffar Kamilov had previously served as the rector of the Academy from 2021 to 2023. Prior to his new appointment, he worked as the presidential advisor on interfaith and interethnic relations.
