The concert participants presented 12 music performances of various music genres: national melodies performed by doira and dutor players as well as classical pieces such as Basque Capriccio by Pablo De Sarasate, Scherzo for Violin and Piano by Dmitri Shostakovich as well as jazz and choir singing.
The diversity of music instruments coupled with national and international motifs, classics and improvisations, the mastery and talents of young musicians at the concert served one purpose: make a contribution to the cause of supporting everyone who has been faced with the AIDS problem.
Dildora Jamalova, Director of Uspensky Music School:
- “Music has so many wonderful qualities; it helps people develop and enriches their spiritual world, lifts their spirits but above all it is able to heal people. Back in the 9th century music was used as a therapy in the Orient. Today all the musicians should unite and tell the world that we and our children should be healthy not only spiritually but also physically. We are hopeful that this concert will help raise the younger generation’s awareness of AIDS and understand how serious this problem is, and show sincere support for those who have been faced with this malady.”
Igor Ten, concert participant and student at Uspensky Music School::
- “AIDS is a global problem and the whole world is struggling to fight it. It is a serious problem and each of us should try to protect themselves from the disease. Music helps us spiritually, helps us to live and gives us hope for a better future.”
Yunus Rajabi, concert participant and student at Uspensky Music School:
- “Today we have performed at a concert dedicated to AIDS fight where we played national and jazz music. We all enjoyed the concert. I have participated in the Fund Forum’s projects before; in 2009 I emerged as a winner at Yangi avlod Children’s Art Festival, and I think that today’s concert was a very interesting and important event.”
