Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – In line with the order of the President of Uzbekistan, 9 new museums will be created in the republic, 7 of which will be located in the Samarkand Museum Square. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Aziz Abdukhakimov.
The Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage and the Cultural Heritage Agency under it, together with the khokimiyats of Samarkand, Ferghana, Khorezm regions, interested ministries and departments, will establish the activities of the "museum square" in the city of Samarkand.
According to Aziz Abdukhakimov, the exhibition "The Great Silk Road - the golden heritage of Uzbekistan and China", the exhibition "Samarkand - the contact of cultures of the regions of Uzbekistan and Russia", a museum, the Museum "Classicism", the Museum of Historical Photography, the Museum of Jewelry Art, art exhibition halls, museums of traditional costumes as branches of the State Museum-Reserve.
Also, the Museum of Modern Art will be created in the city of Kokand, as a branch of the State Museum-Reserve of Kokand, and in the city of Urgench - the Museum of Lyazgi, as a branch of the Museum of Modern Art of Uzbekistan.
It should be noted that the purpose of this is to create new modern expositions dedicated to the integration of the art of Uzbekistan into the world literary and cultural environment, the role of historical exhibits in the history of the Uzbek people and statehood, the life and work of great scientists, as well as strengthening the positive image of the country in the international arena and wide propaganda on the platform of contemporary art of the rich historical and cultural heritage contained in museum collections.
