Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 6 September, an exhibition-presentation "Hospitality and quality products of Shandong" and a conference on cooperation and exchange between enterprises of Shandong - Samarkand region were held in Samarkand region of Uzbekistan.

Before the start of the conference, leaders and guests visited a thematic exhibition. The exposition included an audio-visual display area "Mutual brilliance and eternal friendship between China and Uzbekistan", an exhibition area "Powerful tools of a great country: Shandong intellectual production", a tasting area "Sophistication and aroma of tea: Taste the tastes of Lu together", an exhibition area "Qi Style and Grace Lu: Crafts of Shandong", the exhibition area "Odes and Hymns of the East: Shandong Book Flavor".

The exhibition vividly presented the cultural characteristics and achievements in the development of "Shandong hospitality and quality products", showed the spirit of Chinese civilization, which "cherishes harmony and strives for harmony." Visitors were able to experience the sincerity and warmth, charm and originality of Shandong Province in an immersive way.

At the official opening ceremony of the conference, the head of Samarkand regional administration Erkinjon Turdimov noted that today’s event and meeting will be an impetus for closer cooperation between entrepreneurs from Shandong and Samarkand. “The twinning of Samarkand with such a potential province as Shandong means a lot. We need to use their experience. We will create all conditions for businessmen coming from Shandong to work in Samarkand within the framework of the legislation of Uzbekistan,” he said.

Secretary of the CPC Committee, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Shandong Provincial People’s Congress Lin Wu, in turn, said that Shandong Province, which is a sister region of Samarkand region, is one of China’s leading provinces in terms of population, economy and culture. At present, Shandong, in full accordance with the important instructions of President Xi Jinping, is actively promoting the construction of a green, low-carbon and high-quality development advanced zone, and is constantly making new strides in various endeavors.

"The parties will further deepen cooperation, achieve mutual benefit and common win at a higher level and on a larger scale," Lin Wu expressed hope.

In his opinion, this conference has strengthened the traditional friendship and showed excellent prospects for exchanges and cooperation. The exhibition-presentation "Hospitality and quality products of Shandong" is another page in the brilliant history of Chinese-Uzbek friendship, which is growing stronger day by day. "Hospitality" means warmth, friendliness, sincerity and generosity, while "quality products" indicates excellent quality that is constantly being improved. This perfectly reflects the nature and culture of Shandong, the nature and character of the Shandong people,” Lin Wu pointed out.

As part of the event, the Association of Media Workers and the Shandong TV and Radio Broadcasting Station signed a framework agreement on cooperation with the Ferghana Association of Journalists and the Rukhsor TV Company of the city of Ferghana.

It should be noted that Shandong province and Samarkand region are sister regions, they are connected by long-standing contacts and deep friendship.

These events were organized by the Press Office of the People’s Government of Shandong Province and were held under the slogan "Spreading civilization along the Silk Road, linking Haidai with Kangyuy." More than 150 Chinese and Uzbek guests took part in it and discussed issues of further development of cooperation and friendship between Uzbekistan and China.
