The number of subscribers increased from 2.59 million in November 2007 to 2.8 million subscribers in December 2007.

The Agency for Communication and Information of Uzbekistan said on its website that the number of mobile users doubled in 2007 to reach 5.8 million as of 1 January 2007.

Currently, five mobile communication operators work in Uzbekistan. Three of them - MTS-Uzbekistan, Beeline and Coscom - work in GSM standard and other two - Perfectum Mobile and Uzbektelecom Mobile operate CDMA network.
