MTS-Uzbekistan expands 3G network to Bukhara, Urgench
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- MTS- Uzbekistan expanded its 3G network in test mode in Bukhara and Urgench cities, the company said on its website.

The company, a subsidiary of Mobile TeleSystems OJSC in Uzbekistan, also has 3G networks in Tashkent and Samarkand cities, which were launched in December 2008.

MTS-Uzbekistan subscribers with 3G handsets in these cities will be able to use new services- Video Call and 3G High-speed Internet.

Video Call service provides subscribers wide opportunity of communication. This service can communicate and see their interlocutors and their location.

3G High-Speed Internet, rendered on HSDPA technology, will provide opportunity to subscribers to use 3.6 Mbit/s. This will help users to serve via websites and exchange information.

Currently, three mobile operators from total five constructed their 3G networks. Beeline, subsidiary of Russia’s Vimpelcom in Uzbekistan, launched commercial 3G network on 3 December. UCell 3G network is working in testing mode now.
