Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Subscriber base of MTS Uzbekistan grew by 1.8% in August 2009 compared to July 2009, Russia’s Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) said in a statement.

The company said its Uzbek subsidiary attracted 120,000 new subscribers in August. As of 31 August 2009, the subscribers’ base of MTS Uzbekistan reached 6.67 million.

MTS Uzbekistan is former Uzdunrobita and it is largest mobile operator of Uzbekistan on terms of subscribers’ number.
