It was noted that Uzbekistan pays attention to protection of economic and social rights of citizens, in particular, right on labour and freedom of selection of profession. Constitution of Uzbekistan, Labour Code, law “On labour protection”, and law “On mandatory insurance civil liability of employers” fortified corresponding norms. In the country, all citizens have right to work in secure and hygienically clean conditions. They also have right for compensation for damage to their health and property in the result of labour activity.
It was underlined that in line with the article 13 of the Law “On labour protection”, employees should be provided with free uniform and protection means, milk or other food if they work in enterprises with dangerous and harmful work conditions.
During the study of the execution of the law “On labour protection” in Tashkent city and Samarkand region, it was revealed that there are some shortages along with positive results. Some enterprises did not pay attention to instruction of employees on labour protection and work places did not meet security requirements.
At the end of the session, the committee adopted a decision directed at further improving protection of labour.
