MPs consider execution of the State Budget in 1H 2018

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan considered the results of the execution of the State budget and the budgets of state trust funds in the first half of 2018.

This issue was first discussed at meetings of political factions and the deputy group of the Ecological Movement of Uzbekistan, as well as at extended meetings of the relevant committees of the Legislative Chamber.

It was noted that Uzbekistan’s GDP made up about 153 trillion soums in January-June 2018, which grew by 4.9% year-on-year.

In the reporting period, industrial growth made up 6.1%, agriculture, forestry and fish farming - 2.7%, construction - 9.7%, trade, housing and food services – 1.7% and other services - 5%. The budget was executed with 0.1% surplus to GDP.

Revenue of the state budget made up 33.16 trillion soums, which rose by 47.7% year-on-year. The expenses of the budget rose by 55.7% year-on-year in January-June 2018 to 33.01 trillion soums.

It was said that 52.2% of social expenditures were directed to education sector. About 4.17 trillion soums were directed to healthcare sector.

The state budget for 1.39 trillion soums were directed to social support and raising the standard of living of the population. About 511 billion soums have been allocated from the state budget for disabled people.

During the reporting period, additional funds for 1.71 trillion soums were received to local budgets, which grew by 6 times compared to the same period of 2017.

MPs adopted a resolution, which approved the report on the execution of the State Budget and the budgets of state trust funds in the first half of 2018.
