Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan considered a draft law, envisaging introduction of amendments and additions to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On State Pensions for Citizens” in the second reading.

The draft law was developed in accordance with the decrees of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Measures for Cardinal Improvement of the System of State Support for Persons with Disabilities” from 1 December 2017, and “On Additional Measures to Create Favorable Conditions for Certain Categories of Retired Workers” from  28 December 2017.

According to the additions made, the procedure for assigning preferential pensions to certain categories of people with disabilities of I and II groups is improved, as well as the retention of excessive payments for pensions, revealed as a result of inspections for the proper appointment and payment of pensions.

In particular, this document envisages allocation of preferential pensions to certain categories of persons with disabilities of the 1st and 2nd group on the list, which will be approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The document proposed to allow to retire five years before the general pension age, including for men with at least 25 years of work experience, women - with work experience of at least 20 years.

In addition, the court determines the procedure for recovery, in case of disagreement of the pensioner with the decision of the district (city) department of the Pension extra-budgetary fund for the payment of excessive amounts.
