The press service of lower house of the Uzbek parliament said that the law was developed in line with the resolution of the President Islam Karimov “On State Programme “The Year of Harmonically Developed Generation”.
The document is directed at limiting smoking of tobacco and consumption of alcohol products to decrease their negative impacts to health of citizens, first of all people under the age of 20.
Consumption of alcohol and tobacco by people up to the age of 20 can become alcohol and tobacco addicted, which can damage health of persons, family and society as a whole.
Alcohol and tobacco consumption also can negatively impact reproductive health. The document will also help to upbringing healthy generation.
After the discussion, MPs of Legislative Chamber approved the concept of the draft law and adopted in the first reading.
