Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Member of the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan Nosirjon Aminov put forward a proposal to introduce an increased property tax for families owning more than one car.

A deputy of the Legislative Chamber expressed concern about the growing level of air pollution in Tashkent, associated with uncontrolled construction and increased traffic.

He stressed the need for action, including strict enforcement of violations of building standards, a review of traffic regulations to address traffic congestion, and an additional property tax for multi-vehicle households.

Nosirjon Aminov emphasized the importance of creating a safe and modern infrastructure for pedestrians, calling for a reconsideration of the attitude towards personal cars in favor of public transport. He said that using a private car should be a luxury.
