The event was attended by chiefs of restaurants in Moscow. They cooked pilaf on their receipts and competed for the title of the best pilaf of 2013. Independent jury, which included professional cooks and experts, as well as mass media, rated at the meals.

Chairperson of Uzbekistan Cooks Association Akbar Umatov said that the summit is one of the largest gastronomic events, which presented Uzbek meals. He said that the summit attracted cooks from Uzbekistan, India, Spain and other countries. Among participants were cooks from Tashkent, Samarkand, Khorezm and Ferghana cities.

Lola Sayfi, one of the organizers of the event, said that pilaf became international meal and it is cooked across the world. The summit was attended by cooks from India, Japan, Italy, Brazil and others. She added that Uzbek pilaf dominated in the event, which presented pilafs of Samarkand, Khorezm and Ferghana, as well as Tashkent.

The organizers said that over 30,000 guests participated at the event and had chance to taste pilafs of various nations.
