Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - For 10 months of 2019, commercial banks of Uzbekistan granted mortgages in the amount of 5.9 trillion soums to 41,000 individuals (growth compared to the previous year (3.7 trillion soums) by more than 37 percent).

During the above period, the highest growth in mortgage lending indicators was observed in the city of Tashkent (an increase of 1.17 trillion soums), as well as in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Tashkent, Surkhandarya and Samarkand regions. At the same time, the volume of allocated mortgage loans has significantly decreased in such areas as Ferghana, Jizzakh and Syrdarya, Navoi, Khorezm.

Of the total volume of allocated mortgage loans, 99 percent (5.84 trillion soums) were directed to the primary market, 1.0 percent (61.0 billion soums) - to the secondary market.

As part of mortgage loans, the share of loans allocated on a preferential basis within 7-16 percent per annum is 82 percent, the share of loans issued within 17-20 percent per annum is 14.1 percent, and the share of loans issued at 20 percent per annum and above is 3.9 percent.
