Google I/O is an annual software developer-focused conference held by Google in San Francisco. Google I/O includes various sessions focused on building web, mobile, and enterprise applications with Google and open web technologies. Google has been holding Google I/O since 2008.
This year, Google I/O conference for the first time was organized by Google Developer Groups Tashkent (GDG Tashkent), which was established in February 2018 by IUT students. The project was supported by Inha University in Tashkent (IUT), East Telecom, The House of Tudor, Smart Outsourcing Solutions (SOS) and MacCoffee.
Over 200 young developers and coders participated in the conference, as well as students of high-profile universities in Uzbekistan.
This year, Google hosted the Google I/O conference on 8-10 May 2018. During the conference, Google introduced its new products and solutions - Google Photos, Google Assistant, Google News, Android P, Google Lens, etc.
In the first part of the conference, the participants familiarized themselves with new solutions and products of Google, which were presented at the main event of Google I/O 2018.
During the event at IUT, representatives of local IT companies make presentations. They shared their knowledge and experience in various directions of IT field. Among them were specialists of such companies as Martlet, Super Dispatch, SOS Group and others.
Participants also took part in workshops. During these sessions, young specialists studied solutions such as React, Kubernetes, as well as creating mobile applications, machine learning, etc.
One of the organizers of Google I/O Extended and student of IUT Darkhonbek Mamataliev said: “This year, we have a great attention to practical studies. In this way we want to help our young specialists not only get information about new technologies, but also study how to use them in practice.”
“Also, the participants got skills of working in a team and found like-minded people for the creation of various innovative projects”, he stressed.
