Mobile application: real-time product information

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A Presidential Decree "On measures for the effective organization of public administration in the field of developing competition and protecting consumer rights within the framework of administrative reforms" was adopted.

According to the Decree, the Committee for the Development of Competition and Consumer Rights Protection is a republican antimonopoly body, which is accountable to the President and the Senate in its activities.

From 1 October 2023:

- a register (list) of economic entities that have been granted exclusive rights is being introduced;

- The Competition Committee determines the entities that have the possibility of unilateral influence on the determination of the terms of the transaction, the territory and the price of the sale of goods (excellent negotiating power) and prohibits their abuse of excellent negotiating power;

- a legal or natural person who has entered into an anti-competitive agreement or performed a mutually coordinated action and was the first to voluntarily report this to the Competition Committee is released from liability established by the competition laws.

Also, the project "We are listening to you" will be introduced.

Until 1 October 2023, effective mechanisms will be developed to prevent cases of corruption and their early “diagnosis”, identify and eliminate factors that generate corruption in the system of the Competition Committee.

Until 20 December 2023, an information system and a mobile application "Product Information" will be developed, which will provide consumers with the opportunity to receive online information about goods (works and services) that are in circulation on the country's consumer market.

Until 1 January 2025, the functions of the Competition Committee for the regulation and control of tariffs of natural monopoly entities will be gradually transferred to the newly created independent market regulators.
