Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 8 November, the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications Development held a meeting with Oracle Vice President Giovanna Sangiorgi. First Deputy Minister Olimjon Umarov attended the meeting.
The first deputy minister expressed interest in expanding the presence of Oracle in Uzbekistan, in enhancing the company’s participation in the introduction of modern information technologies in the country.
To date, in accordance with the state program for the implementation of the “Electronic Government” system, state bodies of the Republic of Uzbekistan have implemented a number of projects for the implementation of information systems and databases. In developing the system and databases, Oracle solutions were also used.
In order to expand business in Uzbekistan, Oracle has been invited to consider the possibility of revising the company’s licensing policy in Uzbekistan. To implement this idea, it was proposed to consider the possibility of defining a single integrator “UZINFOCOM” by an authorized partner of Oracle, who will be an authorized partner for interaction with government bodies.
The meeting discussed the provision of comprehensive support in the training of IT personnel in Uzbekistan.
Oracle Vice President Giovanna Sangiorgi expressed satisfaction with the proposal to expand the company’s activities and accelerate cooperation in Uzbekistan.
The parties agreed to identify all areas of cooperation and develop a roadmap on this basis.
