The project to create new center was presented to the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on 29 June. 2017
The center will specialize in development of software, design and development of information systems, resources and databases.
Participants of the center will also implement projects in the field of information security. The center will support startup projects. The center will also conduct research in the field of information technology.
Residents of the innovation center will be exempted from paying taxes and compulsory payments. They will also receive customs privileges.
It is expected that the number of residents of the innovation center will reach 600 units by 2021. The volume of IT industry exports will grow from US$3.3 million to US$30 million by 2021.
As a result, the share of ICT in Uzbekistan’s GDP will reach 4% by 2021. Now this figure is 1.9%.
