Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 24 July, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.

The Belarusian leader warmly congratulated the President of Uzbekistan on his birthday, wishing him good health, well-being, and continued achievements for the peace and prosperity of the brotherly Uzbek people.

During the conversation, the parties discussed the practical implementation of the agreements reached following Alexander Lukashenko’s visit to Uzbekistan in February of last year, including actions outlined in the approved roadmap.

They expressed satisfaction with the growing bilateral dialogue at all levels. The effectiveness of the recent meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission in Minsk and the talks between the foreign ministers of both countries in Tashkent was particularly noted.

Since the beginning of this year, trade turnover between the two countries has increased by 28 percent. Joint cooperation projects in agriculture, electrical engineering, textiles, pharmaceuticals, and other sectors are being successfully implemented. Cultural and humanitarian cooperation programs are also being effectively carried out.

The two leaders also discussed the schedule of upcoming bilateral events and emphasized the importance of their timely preparation.
