Uzbekistan head coach Mirjalal Kasimov said he will resign after the loss in play-off match of the qualification round of the 2014 FIFA World Cup against Jordan.

Later he met with the Uzbekistan Football Federation (UFF) President Mirabrar Usmanov, who did not accept his resignation.

The UFF said that the decision is connected with upcoming official match against Vietnam within the 2015 Asia Cup on 15 October.

The federation said that there is little time till the match and Mirabrar Usmanov asked Kasimov to continue his work as Uzbekistan head coach.

The press service of the UFF said that the federation started to search for new coach among specialists, who are working in Uzbekistan. Usmanov also said that foreign coach could be invited as well. New coach will be appointed by January 2014.
