Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 10 October, at a meeting of the European Transport Group within the framework of the International Transport Forum, Bekzod Kholmatov, Director of the Center for Transport and Logistics Development Studies, presented the importance of Uzbekistan’s accession to the European Conference of Ministers of Transport (ECMT) and the degree of compliance with the "Quality Charter" requirements.
Joining the ECMT multilateral permit system will enable Uzbekistan to carry out bilateral and transit transport based on multilateral permits exchanged with 43 ECMT member states for freight road transport.
Following the presentation, the International Transport Forum, the International Road Transport Union, as well as countries such as Turkey and Denmark, expressed their support for Uzbekistan’s accession to the permit system.
Currently, the issue of Uzbekistan’s compliance with the "Quality Charter" requirements of the ECMT will be studied by experts from the International Transport Forum.
