Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Natural Resources of Uzbekistan, in accordance with a presidential decree, was renamed the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change.

From 1 July 2023, the “Public Environmental Inspector” system will be introduced.

The post of Deputy Prosecutor General, responsible for monitoring compliance with and enforcement of legislation in the field of ecology, environmental protection and forestry, has been introduced.

The Ministry creates the State Inspectorate for Environmental Supervision, which does not have the status of a separate legal entity.

According to the resolution, until 1 December 2023, small-sized automated stations for background monitoring of atmospheric air pollution will be installed in districts (cities).

By the end of 2025, a forecasting and early warning system for the population of regions with high natural air pollution will be introduced on a test basis.

By the end of 2024, the eco-indicator.uz rating will be formed based on the indicators of the environmental assessment of the regions and an environmental passport of each region will be announced.
