Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The instruction “On opening, maintaining and closing bank accounts”, developed by the Central Bank, was registered by the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan.
The document unified the norms of documents governing the opening and maintenance of bank accounts, including instructions on bank accounts opened in banks of the Republic of Uzbekistan and regulations on the National Information Database of Bank Depositors of the Republic of Uzbekistan, etc,
In accordance with this instruction:
- from 1 May 2023, legal entities whose founders are residents of the Republic of Uzbekistan and individual entrepreneurs are given the opportunity to remotely open bank accounts, not only in the process of their state registration, but also in the course of their activities;
- the right to determine the form and number of submitted signature samples is determined by the bank in accordance with internal documents;
- banks are given the right not to store documents submitted for opening accounts in paper form, if there are conditions for storing them in electronic form
- persons with disabilities are allowed to use a facsimile signature;
- economic entities are given the opportunity to obtain a list of their accounts in all banks from the National Information Base of bank depositors through the bank servicing the main account;
- legal entities covered by treasury execution are allowed to open other accounts (transit, for terminals, cash, corporate cards), without opening a main account;
- a norm is introduced for opening accounts for all individuals on the basis of a single identifier - a personal identification number of an individual (PINFL);
- banks, when opening bank accounts for non-residents - individuals and legal entities and crediting funds to their accounts, are allowed to request identifying documents in accordance with the requirements of "Anti-Money Laundering" (AML) and "Know Your Customer" (KYC, e-KYC)".
