Ministry of Health: in March 2023, the Pfizer vaccine against the latest strains of COVID-19 was brought to Uzbekistan from five countries

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 27 March 2023, 800,640 doses of the Pfizer vaccine (TRIS, RTU original) were delivered to Uzbekistan from Spain and handed over to our country's officials at the international airport named after Islam Karimov.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Health, as a result, the number of anti-coronavirus vaccines imported into our country in March amounted to 2,960,640 doses.

These Pfizer vaccines were presented by Sweden, Italy, Czech Republic, Croatia and Spain.

“The difference between Pfizer (TRIS, RTU original) and other types of vaccines, as well as previous versions of this Pfizer, is that new batches of vaccines have a high probability of exposure to the latest strains of the virus,” says Dilorom Tursunova, head of the Sanitary and epidemiological committee. “These vaccines are supplied to our country as part of the COVAX program.”

The distribution of vaccines supplied to Uzbekistan by country is as follows:

from Sweden – 722,880 doses;

from Italy – 702,720 doses;

from Spain – 800,640 doses;

from the Czech Republic – 446,400 doses;

from Croatia – 288,000 doses of vaccine.

In three days it will be two years since the start of vaccination against coronavirus infection in our country.
