Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On the first day of 2025, 1,641 children were born in Uzbekistan, according to the country’s Ministry of Health.
Among the newborns on 1 January 2025, there were 845 girls and 796 boys.
The highest number of births was recorded in the Fergana region — 244. This was followed by Samarkand region (186), Kashkadarya region (181), Surkhandarya region (172), Tashkent region (150), Tashkent city (139), Andijan region (90), Jizzakh region (87), Bukhara region (86), Khorezm region (83), Republic of Karakalpakstan (71), Namangan region (65), Syrdarya region (45), and Navoi region (42).
Among the newborns were 23 pairs of twins, including 22 sets of twins and 1 set of triplets, totaling 47 children.
For comparison, the number of births on the same day in previous years was as follows: in 2018 — 1,961, in 2019 — 1,708, in 2020 — 1,974, in 2021 — 1,644, in 2022 — 2,316, in 2023 — 2,155, and in 2024 — 1,859.
