Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting was held at the Ministry of Finance between Deputy Minister Akhadbek Haidarov and the international expert of UNDP, Mr. Nelson Stratta.

On behalf of the Ministry of Finance, the meeting was also attended by Director of the Institute of Budget and Tax Studies Jakhongir Negmatov, Director of the Department of Macroeconomic Analysis Zuhriddin Ibragimov, as well as the Director of the Department of Budget Policy in the Fields of Social Protection of the Population and state Social Services Rafael Klivleev.

On the part of UNDP, the meeting was also attended by Diera Kabulova, Head of the Department for Inclusive Growth of UNDP, Komolkhon Islamov, Head of the UN Program, and Fayzulla Salakhuddinov, Head of the UNDP project.

The main purpose of this meeting was to discuss the process of developing a comprehensive Strategy for financing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for the Republic of Uzbekistan.

At the beginning of the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the possibility of taking into account all key reform programs in the Strategy, including public finance management and public investment.

During the meeting, the guests also discussed possible assistance in identifying the main gaps in funding sources that the Strategy can focus on eliminating.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to further expand mutually beneficial cooperation, provide comprehensive assistance in current and future projects and continue discussions at the next upcoming meeting.
