Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting between the Ambassador of the French Republic to Uzbekistan, Ms. Aurelia Bouchez, and the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy.

At the meeting, the work carried out between Uzbekistan and France in 2022 and the results of a highly organized state visit were noted. The current status of projects implemented with the participation of French companies was also discussed, namely:

- Together with EDF, work carried out within the framework of the projects of the Syrdarya HPP, Kambarata and Chotkol HPP, as well as the installation of solar panels on the roofs of buildings and structures;

- In May 2022, Total Eren successfully launched a 100 MW solar power plant in the Samarkand region, and also showed interest in the construction of new stations planned for implementation in the Samarkand and Kashkadarya regions;

- It was noted that Voltalia won the tender for the construction of a solar photovoltaic plant in the Khorezm region, and is conducting practical work to expand cooperation in other areas.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed the prospects for cooperation with Technip Energies. The parties noted the expediency of creating a joint venture providing design services not only in the field of modernization of the gas transmission system, but also in other areas of the fuel and energy complex.

The parties also discussed the possibilities of cooperation in the field of nuclear energy, emphasizing the interests of Framatome and Assystem.

As a result of the meeting, the foreign party was invited to consider the possibility of implementing the Agrovoltaics project with Voltalia and establishing cooperation with Assystem to introduce the smart-grid system.
