Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting was held at the Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan between Minister Sherzod Shermatov and DataVolt CEO Rajit Nanda to discuss the acceleration of data center construction.

During the meeting, the current status of joint projects was reviewed, including the implementation of the initiative to build "green" data centers.

Rajit Nanda invited ministry representatives to attend the Artificial Intelligence Summit in the United States on 26-27 September 2024. Participation in the summit will provide an opportunity to showcase Uzbekistan’s IT potential to leading global IT companies.

Additionally, DataVolt has been invited to participate in a panel session on artificial intelligence as part of the ICTWeek 2024.

The data center, with a capacity of 10 MW, will be constructed at IT Park in Tashkent and will provide computing resources for its residents. The investment in this project will amount to US$150 million.

DataVolt also plans to invest up to US$5 billion in projects in Uzbekistan by 2030. This plan includes the construction of a 250 MW data center in New Tashkent on a 25-hectare site, as well as a 40 MW data center in Bukhara Province, with the possibility of expanding to 250 MW.

All data centers will utilize renewable energy sources. The project will be financed through the company’s own funds and loans from international financial institutions.
