Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan commented on the participation of its head, Ozodbek Nazarbekov, in an advertisement for a clothing store.
According to the Ministry’s statement, Nazarbekov visited the clothing store as part of his participation as a jury member for the project "The Voice of Uzbekistan."
He chose clothing for participation in the shooting of the program.
In the video, he expressed his opinion on the development of the national brand and called for support of local producers, the ministry stated.
The statement also notes that the minister had no commercial interest or benefit from participating in the video.
Minister of Culture Ozodbek Nazarbekov respects and honors the laws of Uzbekistan, the statement said.
It was previously reported that the Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights is investigating the advertisement featuring the Minister of Culture and People’s Artist of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov.
According to Article 16 of the Law "On Advertising," it is prohibited to indicate in advertisements that a product is approved by state bodies or their officials.
