Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 13 March 2023, Adviser to the Minister of Agriculture Alisher Shukurov and representatives of the Ministry met with an official delegation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) headed by the Deputy Director for Production and Implementation of the Climate Strategy Sun Kyung.

The purpose of the meeting was to launch a new project to develop a roadmap for the food system as part of a joint mission between the EAEU and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.

Global climate change, the problems that are now occurring all over the world, have not bypassed the agricultural sector. To prevent and eliminate these problems, several joint projects have been launched. The guests focused specifically on the issues of decarbonization (which means reducing carbon emissions), emphasizing the importance of reducing harmful emissions and that much work remains to be done in this regard.

During the meeting, the parties answered questions within the framework of the topic of interest to them. An agreement was announced on further strengthening cooperation.
