Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 29-30 September 2021, within the framework of the economic forum “Uzbekistan: Results and Prospects of economic Reforms”, a Memorandum of Understanding on further development of cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan.

In accordance with the action plan for the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding, on 23-26 of February, the delegation headed by Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan Yusuf Majidi, Head of the Main Department of the State Budget of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan Azimi Zafar, Head of the Main Department of Tax Policy and State Fees Shodien Zavkibek, acting First Deputy Head of the Main Department of the Central Treasury Nazhmiddin Nuriddin, Deputy Head of the Main Department of the State Budget Kurboniyon Sarvar visited Tashkent.

According to the program of the visit, on 24 February 2022, in the morning, a meeting was held with members of the delegation with the participation of Deputy Finance Minister Akhadbek Haidarov. The meeting was attended by Director of the State Budget Department Sherzod Mukhamedov, Director of the Department of International Financial Relations Ajiniaz Kayapnazarov, Deputy Director of the Department of Tax and Customs Policy, Revenue Forecasting Umid Khamroev, Director of the Institute of Fiscal Studies at the Ministry of Finance Zhakhongir Negmatov and senior Treasury officials of the Ministry of Finance.

Deputy Finance Minister Akhadbek Haidarov opened the meeting with an introductory speech and thanked the guests for the visit. Special attention was paid to the economic reforms carried out in the Republic of Uzbekistan, the state budget and plans to improve the budget system.

In turn, the head of the delegation is Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan Yu. Majidi expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the practical assistance provided in the implementation of the visit. He also acknowledged with satisfaction that cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Tajikistan is developing rapidly, that the memorandum signed within the framework of the economic forum organized in Tashkent has brought relations between the Ministries of Finance to a qualitatively new level.  

According to the program of the visit, a meeting with members of the delegation was held in the afternoon with the participation of Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan Dilshod Sultanov and specialists of the Ministry.

Deputy Finance Minister Dilshod Sultanov warmly welcomed the guests and noted that cooperation between our countries is developing on the basis of strategic partnership in all spheres, including socio-economic. At the same time, the members of the delegation were provided with information about the reforms of tax policy in the Republic of Uzbekistan, the results achieved, and further tasks.

According to the program of the visit, on February 25, 2022, a meeting with members of the delegation was held in the morning with the participation of Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Abruev and employees of the central office. Welcoming the members of the delegation, Deputy Minister Jamshid Abruev spoke about the state support for social spheres, including the ongoing reforms in our country in recent years.

In the afternoon, the delegation of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan visited the building of the training center under the Ministry of Finance. Here the members of the delegation got acquainted with the activities of the Institute of Budget and Tax Research under the Ministry of Finance and the Training Center, its library and training courses for advanced training organized at the center. After that, a meeting was held with members of the delegation with the participation of Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan Gulnara Rakhimova, where the Deputy Minister noted the changes in the public procurement system in Uzbekistan, the ongoing work to improve the human resources of the financial system, including the knowledge and skills of employees.

Following the meeting, an exchange of views on the visit took place, an agreement was reached on the timely and high-quality organization of events provided for in the action plan for the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding, as well as on the constant exchange of experience and expansion of areas of cooperation between the ministries. A

t the same time, Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan Yusuf Majidi, in accordance with the action plan, officially invited a delegation of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan in June 2022.
