Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A protocol of intent was signed on 17 April 2019 in Tashkent between the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Finance of the French Republic.

Based on this Protocol of intent, the further development of the system in the field of public finance in terms of further developing the treasury system, improving collection in the state budget, development of information systems, internal auditing and other areas is defined.

The signed letter of intent will allow implementing priority areas for improving the public finance system identified in the Action Strategy for the five priority areas of development of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2017-2021.

The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, from 2002 to 2014, is implementing the project “Reform of public financial management”. The ongoing reforms in public financial management systems are based on close bilateral cooperation with the Ministry of Budget, State Accounting and French Government Reform on the basis of interdepartmental agreements.

With the assistance of the French side, drafts of legal acts to create an integral structure of the Treasury of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan (the French model) were worked out.
