Ministers to have deputies responsible for digitalization and privatization

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  In Uzbekistan, ministers will soon have deputies assigned to oversee digitalization and privatization efforts. This was announced by Akmalhon Ortikov, director of the State Asset Management Agency, in an interview with O’zbekiston 24 TV.

He noted that during a meeting on October 17, the president outlined specific tasks and mechanisms for implementing privatization strategies.

"The president stated that 2025 will be the year of active involvement of the private sector in all areas. Government institutions and enterprises must analyze how they will attract the private sector and which assets are subject to privatization. The president has directed the appointment of deputies responsible for digitalization and privatization," Ortikov reported.

According to him, Shavkat Mirziyoyev has set goals for state enterprises, ministries, and agencies for 2025, including attracting the private sector, implementing public-private partnership mechanisms, and selling unnecessary assets.

"He instructed to expedite transformation processes in major enterprises, enter international markets, optimize costs, and enhance labor efficiency," he added.

The head of the State Assets Agency also mentioned that a new privatization program for state enterprises and the sale of unused land through auctions is planned for 2025.
