Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Minister of Transport, Ilkhom Makhkamov, held a meeting with Xu Peng, Vice President for International Marketing at China’s Yutong Bus.

During the negotiations, the parties discussed key issues related to modernizing the vehicle fleet and improving the country’s public transport system.

Particular attention was given to the ongoing project to procure 200 electric buses, as well as the prospects of acquiring an additional 1,000 buses for the capital.

Additionally, the discussion covered conditions that would facilitate the purchase of electric buses by private entrepreneurs.

Minister Makhkamov emphasized the importance of enhancing the quality of service and maintenance provided by Yutong, considering the growing number of buses and electric buses in operation across Uzbekistan.
