Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov spoke at a plenary session at the meeting of the Board of Governors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina) on 8 May.

In his speech, the Minister noted the strategic importance of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the EBRD, bearing in mind the wide range of areas for effective dialogue and interaction, as well as the key role of the bank in improving the investment climate in the country, establishing strong ties with foreign business circles, and increasing the investment attractiveness of the national economy.

The position of Uzbekistan on the main issues on the agenda of the annual meeting of the EBRD Board of Governors was also voiced.

In addition, special thanks was expressed to the EBRD for supporting and assisting the government of Uzbekistan in ongoing reforms aimed at liberalizing the economy, increasing the role of the private sector and ensuring guaranteed protection of investors' rights.
