Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 25 April 2019, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov spoke at the thematic session “Interconnection Policy” at the International Forum “One Belt - One Road” in Beijing.

Speaking about the promising areas of cooperation, the Minister stressed the need for joint efforts to develop transport corridors from the eastern ports of China with access to the Caucasus, Eastern Europe, the Persian Gulf and the Arabian Peninsula, passing through Central Asia.

In this regard, the issues of optimizing the conditions for the carriage of goods along existing routes, as well as the intensification of cooperation in the implementation of projects for the construction of new transport routes were touched upon.

At the same time, it was noted that in order to ensure the effective functioning of such a logistics infrastructure, the governments of the countries concerned should promptly develop and implement a set of measures to expand mutual trade, including through the harmonization and harmonization of regulatory frameworks and the legal framework, improving the mechanisms of customs tariff, fiscal, administrative regulation and lending.
