Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 28 April this year, as part of the second Tashkent International Investment Forum, Minister of Energy Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov met with the UN Deputy Secretary-General, Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Europe Olga Algayerova.

At the meeting, Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov presented information on the work carried out in the field of energy in our country, such as the development of renewable energy sources, including hydrogen energy, as well as energy saving.

A number of issues were discussed during the meeting. In particular:

Acquaintance with the United Nations (UN) Basic Resource Classification and exploring the possibilities of involving Uzbek experts in the development of the UN Resource Management System (UNRMS).

Ms. Olga Algayerova noted that today 56 countries of the world are actively involved in the development of UNFC programs.

Extraction and production of rare earth metals for renewable energy. According to her, today, when the demand for renewable energy sources is growing significantly on the world market, the shortage of metal for their production and the efficient use of metal resources for renewable energy sources is one of the topical issues.

At the end of the meeting, Ms. Olga Algayerova invited Uzbek specialists in the above two areas to Geneva (Switzerland) for a detailed acquaintance with the program.
