Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During an official visit to Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, met with Munir Eldesuki, President of the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), to discuss strengthening scientific and technological cooperation.
The meeting focused on the development of artificial intelligence applications tailored to the markets of Central Asia and the Middle East, conducting joint AI-based research in sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, education, transportation, water management, and ecology, and implementing projects aimed at fostering an innovation ecosystem.
The parties also discussed organizing forums to accelerate collaboration between scientists from both countries and promoting Saudi Arabian investments in Uzbekistan’s IT sector.
King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), established in 1977, is Saudi Arabia’s largest scientific and technological research center, created to support and advance the country’s scientific and technological progress. It remains one of the most significant scientific and creative institutions in Saudi Arabia.
