Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov met with a delegation led by Yale University Professor Ying Zhu, during which several key issues were discussed.

The meeting focused on the digital transformations taking place in Uzbekistan and the digitization of government services, highlighting the achievements made in this area. Particular attention was given to creating conveniences for citizens and businesses through the integration of digital government services with financial systems.

The minister also emphasized the importance of regional cooperation, noting that Uzbekistan’s IT Park and the hub in Astana are working together, stressing the need to present Central Asia as a unified IT space for international investors.

During the meeting, information was provided about energy-efficient data center projects in Uzbekistan, emphasizing the creation of attractive conditions for international companies. The competitive opportunities in the country for business process outsourcing were also discussed, including the establishment of outsourcing centers to service American companies in the freight transport sector.

The minister noted that the level of English proficiency in Uzbekistan is increasing, underscoring the importance of the language in the development of IT education and the significance of language skills in acquiring modern knowledge.

On the other hand, it was highlighted that cooperation with Yale University is crucial for fostering innovation in IT education and equipping the youth of Uzbekistan with contemporary knowledge.

Measures were proposed to enhance curricula by leveraging Yale University’s expertise and to prepare students in accordance with modern requirements.

This meeting represents an important step in developing educational collaboration between Uzbekistan and Yale University, creating new opportunities for future projects and initiatives.
