Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Today, the Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov, held a working meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Uzbekistan, Piergabriele Papadia de Bottini.

During the talks, the parties discussed the expansion of bilateral cooperation and the practical implementation of promising projects. The Minister emphasized that cooperation between Uzbekistan and Italy is developing consistently and dynamically, highlighting the successful exchange of expertise in agriculture and the systematic launch of student exchange programs in the field of agricultural education.

The meeting also addressed ways to improve the efficiency of large-scale projects already underway, the organization of studies for Uzbek students at the University of Tuscia within existing cooperation programs, as well as the resolution of related organizational issues.

As a result of a competition announced by the Ministry, 18 students were granted the opportunity to study at higher educational institutions in Italy and are currently preparing the necessary documents for departure. Special attention was also paid to ensuring the timely issuance of visas for the students.

The two sides outlined prospects for sending Uzbek agricultural specialists to Italy for internships and training programs aimed at introducing advanced standards and enhancing professional skills in line with Italian expertise.
