Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — At a session of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, deputies reviewed the draft law "On Material Responsibility of Military Personnel, Reservists, and Individuals Undergoing Monthly Training in the Mobilization Reserve" in its second reading.
During the discussion, it was noted that the bill aims to clarify the provisions on the material responsibility of military personnel, which were previously established in the "Law on Universal Military Duty and Military Service."
To streamline legislation in this area, it was proposed to adopt a separate comprehensive regulatory act.
The draft law provides detailed explanations of key provisions, including the grounds for holding military personnel materially liable, the distinction between their limited and full responsibility, as well as the procedure for determining the amount of damage and its compensation.
The adoption of this law is expected to enhance the effectiveness of military service, strengthen discipline within the Armed Forces, and ensure legal clarity on damage compensation issues.
Following the discussion, the bill was passed in its third reading.
