Migration Agency Denies Corruption Rumors Regarding Citizens’ Deployment to South Korea

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Uzbekistan Migration Agency issued a statement in response to reports of corruption schemes related to sending citizens to work in South Korea.

Earlier, the State Security Service announced the initiation of a criminal case against certain employees of the Migration Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers, who allegedly organized citizens’ departures to South Korea in exchange for bribes.

In its official comment, the Agency emphasized that the staff responsible for sending citizens to South Korea had been completely renewed, including personnel at its Seoul office.

“The actions of those who betrayed their profession and abused the trust of citizens are strongly condemned,” the agency stated.

It reminded the public that following the reorganization of the Migration Agency under Presidential Decree No. PF–162 dated 17 October 2024, no selection competitions for E–9 visas to South Korea have been conducted.

The Agency also urged citizens to promptly report any suspicious situations or violations related to its activities to the Compliance Service. Contact numbers are: (71) 202–44–11 and short number 12–82.
