Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan is working on an illustrated book-album dedicated to the collection of one of the best museums in Tashkent - the State Museum of Literature named after Alisher Navoi.

The colorful edition will tell about selected exhibits of the museum’s richest collection - about 100 rare manuscripts. The most unique of them is the manuscript of Alisher Navoi "Khamsa", rewritten in 1842 in Kokand. This manuscript contains 45 rare, magnificent miniatures by medieval artists.

In addition, the book will present the manuscript of Alisher Navoi "Badoe’-ul-bidoya", copied in Herat in 1486, the manuscript of Mahmud Zamakhshariy "Muqaddimat-ul-adab", the manuscript of Alisher Navoi "Devon", copied in Bukhara in 1526, manuscript of Zakhriddin Muhammad Bobur "Mubayyin", rewritten in the 16th century.

Shahlo Abdullayeva, the curator of the book-album, candidate of art history, spoke about the exhibits that will also be included in the publication.

“In addition to the above-mentioned manuscripts, the Museum of Literature has an extensive collection of fine arts - paintings, sculptures and decorative and applied arts. On the walls of the exposition of the second floor there is a monumental painting by the People’s Artist of Uzbekistan Chingiz Akhmarov, the plot of which is borrowed from the works of oriental poets, in particular Alisher Navoi. Also, portraits of writers, writers, poets of Uzbekistan are interesting: Chulpon, Kodiriy, Oybek, Zulfiya and many other artists,” said Shahlo Abdullayeva.

“The world community has always paid great attention to the collections of art and culture in national museums. Truly rare and valuable treasures are stored in our country, and we strive to ensure that the whole world knows about this heritage,” added Firdavs Abdukhalikov, Chairman of the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Promotion of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan.

It is worth noting that the Alisher Navoi State Museum of Literature itself is already a kind of work of art. The museum building is a unique historical architectural monument, founded in 1939 in honor of the 500th anniversary of the birth of Alisher Navoi.

The exposition of the museum consists of more than 17,000 works of art - archaeological monuments, manuscripts, documents, films, reflecting the centuries-old history of the Uzbek culture of literature. In addition, more than 65,000 documents about the life and work of writers of our country are collected here. At the origins of the creation of the museum was a well-known scientist of Uzbekistan, a literary critic, Professor Khamid Suleymanov.
