Mercy House No. 22 reopened after reconstruction
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Children Mercy House No. 22 in Tashkent has been opened after reconstruction on 13 August 2012.

The project was organized by Mehr Nuri Foundation at the support of sponsors and partners. At the same, Women’s Council handed over cheque for 20 million soums.

Representatives of Mercy House No. 22, guests and journalists participated at the opening ceremony. It is worth to mention that Mehr Nuri Foundation in cooperation with partners has been assisting to reconstruct and equip maternity hospital, polyclinics, kindergartens, schools, and other social institutions across Uzbekistan.

Mehr Nuri Foundation said that the reconstruction works at the Mercy House No. 22 were conducted from the beginning of 2012.

At the opening ceremony, representatives of Republic Public Union Women’s Council handed over cheque for 20 million soums to purchase children belongings.

The sum was raised from the sum, which was donated during children charity ball “In the name of childhood”, held in Tashkent in July 2012. At the event, Women’s Council handed over gifts to all children of the Mercy House.

Hursanoy Holova, executive director of the Mercy House No. 22, said that some 115 children at the age between 7 and 16 live in the Mercy House. She added that 22 of them will leave to colleges and lyceums this year.

Holova said that Mercy House can accept up to 110 people and they are planning to accept children both from Tashkent and other regions of Uzbekistan. She added that over 4,000 people had lived at the Mercy House since foundation of the Mercy House. They are adults and some of them are living abroad. She said that they are not forgetting about house and writing letters.

Hursanoy Holova stated that Mercy House became more comfortable for children. She said that children are in summer camp and will return on 25 August. She noted that they will be surprised, when they will be back.

Within the project, the building was fully reconstructed and equipped. Library, dancing hall, baths were moved to other building.
