Memorandum on establishing the Uzbek-Kyrgyz expert council signed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 30 July, a Memorandum was signed between the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (ISMI) and the National Institute for Strategic Initiatives under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic (NISI), establishing the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Expert Council.

The creation of the Council will serve as a crucial mechanism for providing expert support for the practical implementation of agreements reached during the Uzbek-Kyrgyz summit held on July 18-19 of this year.

The Council aims to foster a regular and substantive expert dialogue between the two countries by involving relevant experts and specialists.

This mechanism will focus on analyzing the current state and identifying new growth areas in trade and economic, industrial and technological, and cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

Additionally, experts will concentrate on advancing the initiatives of the leaders of both nations, including the construction of the "China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan" railway and water-energy cooperation in the context of the construction of the Kambarata-1 Hydropower Plant, which will have a multiplier effect on the development of the economies of all countries in the region.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to develop a Roadmap outlining joint conferences, seminars, roundtables, and research on mutually interesting topics to be held by the end of 2024.
