Meetings were held on cybersecurity, payments and risk-based supervision for Central Banks of Uzbekistan in the USA

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation consisting of the leaders of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan is in Washington these days to exchange experience within the framework of the trade law development program of the US Department of Commerce (CLDP). During the working trip, a number of meetings take place.

In particular, meetings were organized in Washington between representatives of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the US Department of Commerce, the Cyber Readiness Institute (CRI), and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the press service of the Central Bank reports.

During them, the parties discussed strategies and best practices for expanding the domestic digital payment system in the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the development of a cross-border digital payment ecosystem. The importance of cooperation between the United States and Uzbekistan in the development of cross-border payment systems and the possibility of improving international financial relations was noted.

Participants also discussed the role of the Cyber Preparedness Institute in providing free tools and resources for cybersecurity training to help improve training in this important area.

The meeting introduced various tools and resources provided by the US National Institute of Standards and Technology to improve cybersecurity in the financial sector and discussed opportunities for cooperation in this area.

Also, as part of the program, meetings were held with representatives of the Federal Reserve System, the World Bank, the US Treasury (Office of Cybersecurity and Critical Infrastructure Protection, as well as the Office of Foreign Exchange Regulation).

It was noted that such meetings represent an additional step in the development of cooperation between the United States and Uzbekistan in the field of cybersecurity and the exchange of experience in the field of standards and technologies.
