Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 7 February, the Ministry of Finance held a meeting between the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance and the Special Representative of the French Foreign Ministry for Economic Diplomacy in Central Asia - Pascal Loro.

At the beginning of the meeting, the countries noted a high interest in further strengthening and developing bilateral mutually beneficial relations in the fields of tourism, energy, geology, agriculture, civil aviation, transport and logistics.

In particular, Mr. Loro emphasized that after the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to France in October 2018, cooperation between our countries has reached a new highly dynamic level. Following the visit, 10 bilateral documents were signed.

Pascal Loro also praised the ongoing work on many projects in the framework of cooperation in the field of aviation, geology, transport, logistics and energy. The interest in the participation of large French companies in the Tashkent International Investment Forum, which will be held in March 2020, was especially noted.

Mr. Loro also expressed interest in Uzbekistan in a number of large French concerns like the Renault Group and EDF Energy Group. In turn, EDF Energy Group takes part in a tender for a project to upgrade the Syrdarya TPP under PPP conditions, in cooperation with the International Finance Corporation.

Also, the Ministry of Finance noted that Uzbekistan has a wide portfolio of cooperation with the French Republic. In particular, it is planned to implement a number of large projects in cooperation with the French Development Agency, companies Veolia Environment, Total Eren.
