Meeting with the delegation of St. Petersburg State University

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The First Deputy Minister of Preschool and School Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan Agrippina Shin met with the Vice-Rector for International Affairs of St. Petersburg State University Sergey Andryushin and the Deputy Head of the Branch of St. Tashkent Artem Rubtsov.

During the negotiations, the current state and prospects for the development of cooperation between the Agency for Preschool Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan and St. Petersburg State University were discussed as part of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed during the stay of the Uzbek delegation in the Russian Federation in 2022.

In his opening speech, Sergey Andryushin emphasized that St Petersburg University is striving to build up a mutually beneficial partnership with the Republic of Uzbekistan in various areas of bilateral cooperation, including cooperation in the field of preschool education. In this context, the importance of the early development of preschool children, which is an integral part of the development of modern Uzbekistan, was noted.

In the context of the meeting, the SPbU Vice-Rector proposed to consider the possibility of creating a joint working group to define and develop a Roadmap, within which a mechanism for implementing the points of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed by the parties will be determined.

At the same time, Sergey Andryushin once again confirmed the readiness of the Russian side to erect a monument to the Uzbek thinker and scientist Mirzo-Ulugbek on the territory of the university in St. Petersburg, as well as to provide all possible assistance to the Uzbek side in opening the Center of Uzbek Culture at St. Petersburg State University.

Sergey Andryushin also expressed the readiness of the leadership of St Petersburg University to consider the possibility of expanding cooperation with the Agency for Preschool Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of: a) increasing the scientific potential of the preschool education system; b) implementation of joint projects aimed at the development of inclusive education; c) development of individual modules and programs for the development of nursing; d) advanced training of nurses employed in the system of preschool education.

As a result of the negotiations, the parties reached an agreement to continue joint work in the development of the system of preschool and school education in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
